Ridley Scott can’t do nuance or subtlety, as he so demonstrably proved when, despite the very best efforts of Tom Berenger, Mimi Rogers, and the terrific Lorraine Bracco, to keep a doomed love triangle movingly on track, he had to ruin Someone To Watch Over Me with flash, bang, walloping action that he seems unable to resist for the duration of a film.

Shame, because he’s a very good director…of certain sorts.

Lorraine Bracco is so good in that film.
