So for our first review of 2024 we have no film for review. Not because we were too busy celebrating the arrival of the New Year, although that might explain this post coming a day later than usual. What we do have is our first ReidsonFilm Original Production. Well, actually a film made by one of the team - Nathan.
If you have read our origin story (if not, click below) you will know that Nathan works in the business, editing wildlife films.
Shadow of Udzungwa Mountain is a film that he made independently as a student and like the best of nature documentaries what you see is not only an interesting tale, but a story that reveals surprising truths about nature, science and the human experience.
This story begins at the foot of the Udzungwa mountain range in the Kilombero Valley of Southern Tanzania. Here, a small farming community is forced to take up arms against one of humanity’s oldest adversaries: the rat. The rat is intelligent, agile, and indomitable. Not only does this scourge rob the community of their crops and possessions, it may also harbour something more sinister.
Watch as the film explores the challenges of having to live and work with this constant threat - and follow the journey of a team of intrepid researchers who may just have a solution.

If you enjoyed Nathan’s film do share with a fellow film, or rodent, enthusiast and give us a like. And as ever, we are always keen to hear from you.
So with the New Year ReidsonFilm have reached the end of another season of reviewing films. Before we kick off with Season 3, next week look out for our round up of last season’s highlights. Yes, we are making another podcast…
